The Summer IFP is only available for students who meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Have already graduated from high school, with no post-secondary education
    (Students must have a complete and final transcript, including proof of high school graduation)
  • Meet the English proficiency requirements for Summer IFP
  • Meet the academic requirements for admission

Students cannot apply directly for the Summer IFP – eligible students who have applied for the IFP on the OUAC will automatically be considered for the Summer IFP based on their complete academic history and English proficiency.

In accordance with the University academic calendar, the Summer IFP runs for 8 weeks in July and August.

Faculty of Arts & Science
(excluding Rotman Commerce)

The Summer IFP is an 8-week intensive program designed for first-year students whose language proficiency scores are insufficient for direct entry to the Faculty of Arts & Science (excluding Rotman Commerce), and require additional academic support in transitioning from high school to their first year studies at the University of Toronto.

When applying to the IFP, students will be considered for both the Fall/Winter IFP and the Summer IFP based on their complete academic history, English Proficiency test scores and on a case-by-case basis at the discretion of the Faculty.

In accordance with the University academic calendar, the Summer IFP runs for 8 weeks in July and August.

Faculty of Architecture, Landscape & Design

The Summer IFP is an 8-week intensive program designed for first-year students whose language proficiency scores are insufficient for direct entry to the Faculty of Architecture, Landscape & Design, and require additional academic support in transitioning from high school to their first year studies at the University of Toronto.

When applying to the IFP, students will be considered for both the Fall/Winter IFP and the Summer IFP based on their complete academic history, English Proficiency test scores and on a case-by-case basis at the discretion of the Faculty.
